Updated April 6th, 2010
I would love to have the following 4 players, however I believe they will be gone before the Raiders pick at #8.
Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma.
Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska.
Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma.
Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State.
The following players will be based on players I think may have a chance of being available when the Raiders pick at #8.
Each prospect will be listed in order of desire.
Round #1, Pick #8
1. Bryan Bulaga, Offensive Tackle, Iowa.
[Could challenge a Tackle position or replace Carlisle at Right Guard.]
2. Dan Williams, Defensive Tackle, Tennessee.
[Raiders have been in need of a good 1T Defensive Tackle that can take on double teams and stuff the run.]
3. Rolando McClain, Inside Linebacker, Alabamba.
[McClain would step in and start at MLB, moving Morrison to the weak side.]
Round #2, Pick #7
(If Dan Williams, or Rolando McClain are picked in the first round then I believe the offensive line must be addressed in the second and here are the prospects I desire the most and believe they could be available.)
1. Jon Asamoah, Offensive Guard, Illinois.
[Would start at Right Guard.]
2. Zane Beadles, Offensive Guard, Utah.
[Would start at Right Guard.]
(If offensive line is addressed in the first round or if there isn't a more valuable prospect at one of the Offensive Line positions compared to the following, then these are the prospects I desire most for the second round.)
1. Colt McCoy, Quarterback, Texas.
[QB position for the Raiders is anything but secure. Colt reminds me a little of Drew Brees.]
2. Everson Griffen, Defensive End, USC.
[In my opinion one of the best pass rushers in the draft, reminds me a little of good ol' Greg Townsend.]
(From this round on, I will just state the prospects I like the most regardless of who has been taken prior.)
Round #3, Pick #5
1. Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, Corner, Indiana(PA).
[With Nnamdi on the trade block, and C.J. Johnson turning 30, Raiders should address the Corner position in the draft.]
2. Montario Hardesty, Running Back, Tennessee.
[Neither Bush or McFadden have proven to be the guy.]
3. Al Woods, Defensive Tackle, LSU.
[Would play over center for the Raiders.]
Round #4, Pick #8
1. Mike Kafka, Quarterback, Northwestern / Levi Brown, Quarterback, Troy.
[I like both these QB's, and if the Raiders haven't found one via trade, free agency, or earlier in the draft, I'd like them to consider one of these two.]
2. Jamar Chaney, Inside Linebacker, Mississippi State.
[Could be a good special teams player and backup MLB, possibly move into a starting role down the road.]
3. Kevin Thomas, Corner, USC.
[Physical corner with experience at bump and run.]
Round #5, Pick #7
1. Ramon Harewood, Offensive Tackle, Morehouse.
[Add depth on the Offensive Line as Guard or Tackle.]
2. John Estes, Center, Hawaii.
[Would add depth to the interior of the Offensive Line.]
3. Nate Byham, Tight End, Pittsburgh.
[Raiders could use a good blocking Tight End for some packages, especially with the injury to Myers.]
Round #5, Pick #27
1. Scott Long, Wide Receiver, Louisville.
[Raiders need better options after their top 3 wr's.]
2. John Conner, Full Back, Kentucky.
[Raiders need a good lead back, and Conner could be the best in the draft.]
3. Alfonso Smith, Running Back, Kentucky.
[This one's for Davis.]
Round #7, Pick #8
1. Trindon Holliday, Return Specialist, LSU.
[Could be Raiders version of Sproles, but more than anything they need a dependable guy returning kicks.]
